Video for No History was made by artist Vuk Jevremović, a big fan of Laibach. Vuk Jevremović was born 1959 in Frankfurt am Main (Germany), but spent his childhood in ex Jugoslavia. Following the family tradition, he studied Architecture at The Technical University Belgrade and graduated in 1984. After spending some time in the navy as a diver, he decided to dedicate his life to art: painting and drawing. He started exhibiting in 1986 and during the following years he was considered as a promising young artist in former Yugoslavia.

His first animation, The Wind Subsides was shown all over the world, and it won 2 Grand Prix and 17 Awards. The next film, inspired by a R.M.Rilke’s poem, Panther, was also successful. It won 15 international awards and came into final balloting for the Oscar award (1998) as best animation short.

Since then, his life has been linked to animation and he has continued to create short films: Diary (2000, Oscar qualified), Faces (2002), Quercus, (2003), The Wheel Turns (2005) , Close Your Eyes and Do Not Breathe (2006), Lux (2007) and Patience of the Memory (2009, Oscar qualified).

Laibach world tour 2015

LAIBACH EUROPEAN AND US TOUR

Laibach embark on a worldwide tour that includes four UK shows: Brighton’s Concorde 2 on 30 March, Glasgow’s Classic Grand on the 31 March, London’s Electric Ballroom on 2 April and Manchester’s Academy 2 on 3 April.

The tour begins next month in Germany and includes a performance at the Kampnagel / Krass Festival in Hamburg on 14 February.

Laibach und NSK - Alexei Monroe

After almost four years of planning, writing and editing, a totally updated and extended German version of Alexei Monroe’s book on Laibach and NSK will be released by Ventil Verlag this March. “Laibach & NSK – Die Inquisitionsmaschine im Kreuzverhör” includes material covering Laibach & NSK-related activities since the publication of the English 2005 edition with new photographs, contents and an extensive chronology not featured in the original book.

NSK Exhibition: PRESENT - FUTURE - PAST

The exhibition “NSK: Past – Present – Future” marks the 30th anniversary of the founding of NSK by depicting the development of the Slovenian artist collective “Neue Slowenische Kunst” from its birth within the context of Yugoslavian alternative culture in the 80s through the founding of the NSK State in Time in 1991, and offers a glimpse into the future.

Laibach in Paris

For reasons known only to the French moral police, Laibach has always had problems getting shows in France. We’ve been accused of fascism and all kinds of paranoid nonsense and cultural chauvinism. The same situation is unfortunately repeating now with our upcoming tour to promote the new album Spectre, released this month by the British label Mute, where Laibach records have been published since 1987.
